I have stated a number of times that local climate patterns do not equate global climate change. That is true however, I find it difficult not to point out that we here in California have been experiencing early summer like conditions for several days with little or no relief in sight. This seems to be becoming a pattern here. Despite the fact that our situation may or may not be an indicator of the bigger climate picture, it certainly seems like a nagging reminder of the global climate situation.
*In case some of you are speculating that this researcher is politically biased it might be worth noting this at the end of the article:
Jim Powell is a science author. He has been a college and museum president and was a member of the National Science Board for 12 years, appointed first by President Reagan and then by President George H. W. Bush.
