The uncle is so upset and asking for forgiveness that his family knows nothing of what his 2 nephews were up to.
This is so sad. :(
no the dad is the one who said that ..
Perhaps he is saying it to get the kid to turn himself in and talk rather than going out in a blaze of glory.
I think he just really wants to distance his family from the bombers - not be associated in any way. We know how vile people can be - putting everyone in the same boat by association (ie - your nephews did that, it must mean that the whole family think the same way, etc.)
Is this Uncle the brother? ah yes brother rivalry... Mom always liked his brother best
sounds like jealousy... that is such a debilitating emotion, those involved never see it either...
right back to childhood subconscious.
Brilliant! Excellent work. Never thought about it myself... the ol brother rivalry. Yes... yes indeed.
I'll do some detective work myself. Hmmmm. How did Pandora come to this conclusion? Hmmmm.By gawd I... I... I think I got it: she was enclosed in a room with poor circulation and fresh paint on the walls- it came to her in the form of a hallucination.
Daniel Quick was/is well liked and very shy. Those that knew him well, didn't even think he was capable of doing what he did last week.
Most of his Church and Peers are still stunned. None of them would have ever called him a loser.
He never showed signs of aggression or violence.
Be careful with your words.
This is how these things get started.
Each and everyone of these madmen have been considered losers, outcasts, and have felt rejected by society in some way or another.
So they are going punish those they feel have shunned them with deadly force?
Prove their point by massacring innocent people to 'show them' they are indeed not?
Truly terrifying.

I'm hearing this from a third party but Daniel is partially or completely deaf and very close to his mother.
I think she got really sick or she died and He had no one else. Know one really knows why he did it, the ones closest to him. The media has speculated many theories.
The reason Chuck Palahniuk wrote fight club and his other novels was to portray to general audiences that Young men, men, males have problems and some times society dismisses it. It's the general theme in every book he writes.
The first lines of fight club were memorable to me. Jack went to the doctor because he hadn't been sleeping,
I can't find them on this computer. Too tired to reference my library. But the beginning was sort of...
"Fight Club features a protagonist narrator whose name we assume to be Jack: an average American white-collar male worker bored and disappointed with his life.Jack include him asking his doctor to prescribe some kind of sleeping pills for his insomnia (which the doctor refuses to prescribe), describing them in his narration as “red and blue Tuinals, lipstick-red Seconals” (Fight Club). Here, lipstick is another association with the feminine.
On his doctor’s recommendation as a cure for his insomnia, he starts attending a support groups, to understand real pain. "
"In the following scene, Jack is at a support group for men with testicular cancer (which he does not have). The group leader calls time for one-on-one conversations, and Jack meets Bob—a large male with what Jack calls “bitch tits”. He and Bob have a brief conversation, after which Bob cries, and encourages Jack to cry. Jack does so, and that night he finds his insomnia to be cured.
He begins attending other support groups for illnesses he does not have, so that he can cry and be comforted, and thus sleep.
Here, Jack is blatantly disregarding the adage that “boys don’t cry”, and embracing what is often considered to be a stereotypically feminine indulgence in tears...."
These are the last few lines;
[Narrator realizes Tyler is not holding the gun, but the gun is in his own hand]
Tyler: Why do you want to put a gun to your head?
Narrator: Not my head, Tyler. Our head.
Tyler: Interesting. Where are you going with this IKEA-boy? Hey, it's you and me...Friends?
Narrator: Tyler, I want you to really listen to me.
Tyler: Okay.
Narrator: My eyes are open.
[he then puts the gun into his own mouth and shoots himself]
Tyler: What's that smell...?
The book is a bit more involved in the mayhem project. But I hope the idea I'm going for makes sense?
Most people don't even realize the main character never had a name.
Add to that a mass media contingent in his front yard, asking about a huge national/worldwide story in which your nephews were known to be guilty of murder.
I'm sorry, but I would call them losers too.

Agreed, and he wasn't using the word like a high school girl with a thumb and index finger plastered to his head. He was using it in the context that the brothers went down a path of broken dreams, the classic sense of the phrase that they turned out to be losers in life.
Daniel Quick is the "Lone Star College " kid arrested for stabbing a few classmates last week in Texas. It's in no relation to the Boston people.
May the schwartz be with you!
EEww your avatar is gross this week, B!
