St.Paul night 2. They opened for Petty so their set is a little short. But still a tight show 8-)

You have missed out on what is certainly one of the band's best, tightest, and most energetic tours. Tied with 2005 as my favorite tour. Anyways, these are the boots I tend to favor the most based on the following criteria,I usually base them on how tight the band is musically (if many obvious errors are made). Also, how well the setlist flows from song to song. Some songs like Lukin into Betterman don't cut it for me, as they just don't belong together and don't flow well into one another. Two opening songs combos like Long Road into Corduroy flows so well together, whereas Long Road into Evolution is not quite as pleasing. I try to never base a bootleg judgement on whether I like the songs in the set. There honestly isn't a PJ song I dislike. Some songs I favor over others, many of which are actually "hits." I have listened to about 3/4 of the entire tour as well.

    Washington
    Torino
    Santa Barbara
    San Diego
    Newcastle
    Los Angeles 2
    Las Vegas
    Cleveland
    Bern
    Albany
    Zagreb
    Detroit

Hope that helps some. Those are good places to start and most of these shows are usually recommend by fellow members. Someone will inevitably put Grand Rapids, but despite a cool setlist the show is damn sloppy. :fp:

Definitely +1 on the 2 Gorge shows. Always forget about those classics.

i was at this show...it was so fn' good...
what baffles me is how i could drive all the way to St. Paul and only go to this show and not the 1st night :fp: :fp:
Though at least i was able to hit the better of the 2 nights ;)

either way....killler tour...and Petty was on top his game as usual... 8-)8-)

I decided to relisten to all of the 2006 boots in order. Started 2 months ago and I finished Gorge I today. So I've got Gorge II to listen too later and then I've done all of the US '06 shows.

    My recommendation are:

    Grand Rapids
    Detroit
    Boston II
    Camden II
    Washington DC
    East Rutherford II
    Summerfest II
    San Diego
    Santa Barbara
    San Francisco II
    Portland
    Gorge I
    Gorge II

The ones highlighted in bold are my 'gold' shows and the ones not are 'silver' shows.

You also can't go wrong listening to Arnhem, the 5 Italy shows and Newcastle. I'm sure I'll be including more once I've gone through the Europe and Australia shows again.

You can also see my comments on some of the above boots in the bootleg thread ;)
    2000: Manchester
    2006: Dublin; Leeds; Arnhem
    2007: London
    2009: Manchester
    2012: Manchester I & II : EV Manchester : Soundgarden Shepherds Bush
2013: Brad Manchester : Soundgarden Manchester
2014: Amsterdam I & II; Berlin; Leeds; Milton Keynes
2018: Berlin; London II; Boston II

thank you so much for the recommendations! I'm pumped to start collecting these shows. I guess this is my new obsession. I was listening to barcelona 2006 the other day and the band just sounds so freaking good. inside job as an opener is spectacular.

I've heard a lot about zagreb so i'm definitely looking forward tothat one.

I agree, there were at least 15.000 there, it was a dream come true for many of us...unfortunately this will be the one and only time we get to see them live in our country... :(
