Ghost at Ease

they say that you float
in dreams when you're shot
in dreams
the black figures you
your whole body and head
the real thing

desiring the drowning
full breath and
drowning
supplication if you could

imagine the sun bent into sticks and poking
bright and disarming the morning
when standing like sunshine in front of you
I know I've become what I remember most
those moments
I keep them even

I keep them even though I know
I'm just tugging at sad sounds

I keep them with my ruby devil sapphires
just wait til you're loved by one of them

you don't want to hear
about the outline of my ghost

    Yeah! Nicely done, Rollings!
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
