Like like like like like like

I am so fucking sick of hearing people use the word "like" sentence after sentence. And I, like, thought it was cool. And I, like, had to discipline them. I misunderstood that, like, is he okay?
Are you fucking kidding me? Please just stop talking... mix it up with some uhhhs or ummms

I mean ... like .. You know?
That's fine. Just mix it up a little bit!
It's much like reading a paper that uses the same word over and over again. :fp: Obnoxious to say the least!
As to the use of the word itself in "conversation", I'd tack on those (and the like :P ) who say "and he was all like, no way!"
pardon?
I like
IMO nothing says "I'm incredibly dumb" then when someone says "like" all the time.
Wonder why really smart people don't say it?
Can you imagine hearing a neurologist say:
"So without surgery, you like, have like, a 20% survival rate. I propose we go in and like try to remove as much of the tumor as like possible..."
Pretty sure you'll want a second opinion!
Anyway, she ALWAYS called people out for using "like".
"Could you possibly use the word 'like' any more often? Slow down and say what you want to say. No pressure..."
I had an ex that said "like" all the damn time. Drove me nuts. Used to call her out on it all the time to.
Her: "Oh, the restaurant is like, over there".
Me: "Sooooo...is it actually over there or possibly over there?"
Her: "So, I was at work today and like my boss comes over and saying something like I need this report and I'm like 'I submitted it on Tuesday'".
Me: "Soooo did he actually say that? Were you listening, and did you actually say that?" :fp:
That didn't last long!

Or I should've said - I like must be getting like too old.
Yeah, young women/girls are obviously the worst at this. Also ending every sentence with "or whatever".
"Like, I was shopping down at the mall, or whatever, and I into Tony and we was like hey, and I was like hey and he was wearing this Pearl Jam shirt or whatever. It was like... weird."
beat me to it
