This is the response that CT State Rep Abercrombie gave to the loved ones of those who died at Sandy Hook in Newtown.60 minutes aired this last night.The families were simply trying to hand out pictures of their lost loved one to representatives on their way in to vote on gun control legislation.Most representatives stopped,talked,listened and even hugged and cried with the families.Abercrombie just brushed by in a cold, ignorant fashion.Little did she know the world would bear witness thanks to 60 minutes.Sad and disheartening.A little grace and human dignity is all it takes.Just stop and listen.Especially someone who in such a privileged position.To the families who lost loved ones.May you find peace and love and strength through each other and through the beautiful memories of those who were taken from you.Their love will live forever through you.

    I haven't seen the video. But saying "No Thanks. All set" doesn't really seem bad at all.

    Did she know who they were and what they were giving out? Possible she did not.

    I use those exact same words almost every day when people try to hand me stuff. Happens a lot in cities.

    But she's saying no to people who's kids got shut up all the others stopped and just gave a mnt of attention to these folks and it wasn't out on the street it was indoors right before they were to vote on these laws , but it doesn't matter the laws got passed at that is all tha matters :clap::clap: :thumbup: these parents deserve a mnt of their time ...

    Innocent people including children were murdered.The families are trying to work with elected officials so that other innocent people will not have to suffer through another senseless tragedy such as this.They deserve to be heard by people that are elected to serve the public. Absoloutely not a distraction.And yes I am angry at the smug reaction by someone who is paid to serve the people.Especially a group of people affected by something as heart breaking as what happened at Sandy Hook.

    The purpose of accepting a picture is to put a face to the names that were taken away in such a horrific manner.The parents and loved ones of those who lost their lives do not want their deaths to be in vain.Its an act of empathy and respect that the rest of the politicians chose to take part in.It does not take a lot of effort to acknowledge the families who have suffered so much.

    i did not see the video. all i was saying in my first post is that maybe she was going to vote for the gun law and that was her way of saying "i've made up my mind and i don't need convincing. i got this..."

    And she voted "Yes".

    But who cares about what elected officials do when the rubber meets the road...we should continue to care about what they say to someone as they enter their building for work.

    This seems very silly to me. But again, I haven't seen the video, so maybe it was worse than it seems in text.
