LaPierre’s argument is that a background/registration of a gun purchase will not stop a criminal from obtaining a weapon. Ok, so

This is a very good question. I assume it is different everywhere.

How about these three, were they criminals or did legal access to guns make them criminals?
--Columbine shooter got guns via ‘straw purchase’.
--Virginia Tech shooter got his guns via a ‘gun shop’ even though he had documented mental problems.

A good idea would be for congress to spend as much time on trying to keep guns away from criminals as they do trying to keep guns from law abiding American citizens.
