Thought this was a cool poll. This one is about the Best Rock Clubs, they are also doing theatres, amphitheatres, arenas and dance clubs. Feel free to agree, disagree, be indifferent

I was happy to see Bowery Ballroom at #1, it's one of my favourite venues and was lucky enough to see Chris Cornell there last year! I also love Le Poisson Rouge which didn't make the cut.

pretty cool. I've only been to one of the venues and was kinda shocked to see it on there, the Union Transfer in philly, great venue but it's only been opened for a few years now.

I've only been to one of the clubs on the list and would definitely agree
that The Croc in Seattle should be included!!

Just wondering though...
Would the Bowery Ballroom still be #1
if SNL's Stephan were on the voting panel

Great representation by Chicago, I love Lincoln Hall and Schubas, and they are so many other great venues that didn't make it on the list. The Hideout, Double Door, Reggie's, Metro, etc.

Excellent call on the Troubadour. One of my absolute favorite venues. The Foo Fighters secret show there in 2011 is one of my favorite shows ever.



Also, I've been on stage there with Tom Morello. Twice.



Hopefully I can travel to a few of the others some day!

I am happy for the Troub.....my "home" club.....always very well-run, and they keep to thier advertised set times!

They also keep ticket prices down, and use Tickeyfly, so service charges are lower. The security goes out of their way to ensure a good setting for shows.

It seems to be the club of choice for most of the PJ side projects....Brad, RNDM & Flight to Mars have played there in the past year.

Seen some great underplays (band playing at much smaller venue then usual) there.....The Foos, Travis,The Cure, The Strokes.

It's definitely my favourite venue of late, was hoping but not really expecting it to be on the list especially after Brookyln Bowl and Joe's Pub so it was a nice surprise for me

I was kind of surprised irving plaza wasn't on there. not that i fully understand what makes a great venue according to these voters. I've been to the bowery ballroom several times, not sure i could say one of those places is better than the other. when i found out (after the fact) about PJ playing a secret show Irving Plaza I almost cried.

I like Irving Plaza too and was surprised that it wasn't on the list. Personally I prefer Bowery Ballroom better because it holds half the number of people I think Irving Plaza is about 1,000 capacity, Bowery Ballroom is about 500 but have had good experiences with both in terms of sound. I saw Chris Cornell one night at Bowery Ballroom with surprise guests Soundgarden, then saw Soundgarden the next night at Irving Plaza after I scored a ticket off Ticketmaster the day of. Mind blown. If that ever happened with EV/PJ I'm not sure what I would do with myself

Yay for the Croc...though I really miss the sheep with the neon flames coming out of their bums. Wonder if they kept the Green Room intact.

Croc would have made my list before the renovations, but new the place is pretty lame.

Like the list, and have seen shows in most those rooms.

The Belly Up in Aspen is an awesome place with incredible sound. Major issues include they rarely have anyone worth going to see there and the staff are incredibly irrtating douche-nozzles.

That Soundgarden at Irving Plaza was recently right? I remember trying to get to tickets to that not long ago and failing. Hmm. Starting to think I'm cursed!

Nah, you're not cursed. I didn't get tickets initially and was so sure tickets would drop closer to the time but they didn't and prices on StubHub were going in the wrong direction. But somehow late afternoon I scored a ticket while on the phone on a conference call. Had been trying all day so when the ticket popped up I almost missed it and hit the back button but caught myself just in time.

It's happened a few times for me now, the last minute ticket scoring, so I never lose hope if I don't get tickets initially, just keep checking
