VH1 takes a look at the grunge/metal connection

I just stumbled across this show on VH1 Classic. It features people like Dale Crover, Jack Endino, Hiro Yamamoto, Michael Azerrad, Brendan O'Brien, Steve Albini, Mark Arm, and even a mention of Jeff Ament in the first few minutes.
It's about how the grunge movement formed in the late 80s/early 90s and how music like glam metal, bay area thrash, punk, and UK metal all formed to make grunge.
Best quote might be about 15 minutes in how Alice in Chains was playing at one bar and Soundgarden was at the Off Ramp on the same night. Each night had somebody cool playing.
It's been on VH1 before and re-airs on VH1 Classic on Sunday 4/7 at 4:30 PM ET.
It's seriously reminding me of the first few minutes of PJ20.
18 minutes in..."A handful of bands playing to their friends."
37 minutes in (counting commercials) and no mention of Andy Wood. :fp: :nono:
40 minutes in...the imposter bands ...and we all know who they are...get a big healthy dose of crapped upon by the guys from the Melvins and the original generation.
Final judgement? First 20-30 minutes are pure gold. Last 20 minutes? Pure crap. What the hell is this guy doing lumping Nickleback and Creed in with bands like Soundgarden, AIC, and Green River?

I do believe it was.
I could have lived without the last 20 minutes, but I do understand why it was there. No Andy Wood was a complete travesty.
Yeah, it really is. Aside from Soundgarden I can't think of a more obvious bridge from mid late 80s era of metal to grunge.
