Anyone miss cover notes?

I'm listening to these early Beatles and Dylan albums and reading over the cover notes. It sets a nice time and place for where the band was at for the album's release. Makes for a good setting before the needle hits the record.

Wish bands would bring this back this part of the album.

Oh yes, very much. Blues, folk and jazz records especially used to have great cover notes by people like Samuel Charters, Pete Welding , A. B. Spellman and Nat Hentoff. Those guys were giants and it was very cool to get an excellent musically related essay along with a great record. I'd love to see that kind of thing again on records.
