I read this earlier, sounds like a great speech.
It is terrifying when you are too stupid to know who is dumb
- Joe Rogan
But it's all talk. Stop veto-ing anything and everything that goes 'against' Israel and maybe one will be able to start thinking that this talk actually means something.
I would like to see positive action and not just positive speech.
So why does he support them so?? He panders just as much.
honestly ... he's the POTUS ... and i'm being serious here - he has very little power ... in so much as it relates to progressive ideals ... he can definitely do a lot of shitty things but as far as good things ... he's got no pull ... when a country is operated by corporations and special interests groups - the POTUS must abide by the rules they put forth ... so, he can make all the speeches he wants ... and he knows whenever the next round of UN votes comes around - they will vote no as usual ...
for there to be peace between israel and palestine ... every day israelis must want it ... they must be courageous in the face of fear and propaganda ... it's the only way ...
obama can't stand up to the republicans to help fix his own country, how is he going to have enough influence to make israel hold up their end of the bargain to create a just peace with 2 states? he is talking out of his ass to one of the two sides. as with all past presidents, i am thinking he is supporting israel and just paying lip service to the palestinians. if he was serious, he would not give israel 3 billion bucks a year to help israel fund their iron dome and other weapons and military aid. if he were serious, he would threaten to keep that money unless israel agrees to halt settlement expansion. all he has to do is stop giving them money and they might listen to what the rest of the world is saying.
anyone see what the heckler said?
"Well, you tell him that I don't talk to suckas."
