Neil and the Horse doing instrumentals! Ohhh yeah! :D

I saw CSNY play "Down By the River" at Winterland in S.F. in 1969. That was transcendent as well.

Yes and true. There are a few advantages to being, ummm, well seasoned.

The CSNY show had been cancelled due to a death of someone close to the band (a girl friend, I believe). The show was rescheduled and the emotions were running high that night. At the end of "Down By the River" the whole band was hugging and very emotional. All of us in the crowd we going nuts. It was quite an amazing moment.

I'll go back in time waaaay back in time.....

MAGGOT BRAIN.....Parliament Funkadelic with one of the best ever guitar solos by Eddie Hazel. George Clinton ask him to p,ay if he just lost his mother then to only find out she was still alive....it worked as a classic.

    And naturally....

LA VILLA STRANGIATO.....Rush Alex has pretty good guitar solo here as well.

    Peace

"In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" from "At Fillmore East." Duane Allman's solo blows my mind, especially with his pull-offs at the end of the song.

East West by the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. 1966. Mike Bloomfield's eastern guitar soloing is incredible. Check out the break at 2:51.

The twists and turns in this song always blew me away. Listen to it all the way through and imagine hearing this before Hendrix, clapton or page were really known in America. :o
