Talk to Tree, please. She's working with me to get the pix made available again. I need everyone who downloaded them and posted them on the web to take them down. She can fill you in.

That request for "everyone who downloaded them and posted them on the web to take then down" is a tough one when these were widely available since early this morning.

I'll take my part & take the images down on my Facebook & Twitter pages.
Will just put the photos into the "PJ NFT" hard drive pile ..

we didn't use them for publication or for money.

that's like posting a youtube video and calling it stealing...

I was actually looking to buy a couple of prints from the photographer.
Hope he can get them up again - those we're really great!

In a way you are correct, but he hadn't fully copyrighted them yet. And what good
is a copyright if we blast them all over the net without his consent, before he can lay
a claim on them.... Just the business side of his job.. Thanks for understanding.

The difference between this and YouTube, is this, we can post YouTube vids, as long we
Acknowledge we have no standing copyright ownership. We have to post
that disclaimer, or risk getting sued by the copyright holder. These pics had
no stamp or watermark on them yet.. That's all, I'm sure once he gets that part
in order he'll have no problem with us sharing them.

I bought this photo off ebay from the photographer back in 1999. It just says Kodak on the back and I don't remember his name. I sure as heck hope it's legit.

Mainly... I bought it from the artist. He was paid. It's in a frame with my ticket stubs.

That's sweet!! One if my fave pics.. And yeah the reason for the watermark is this... You want a clean copy?
Buy it! The print you buy comes like this! Sans watermark.

just my opinion, but

Commandeering a photo off the internet and then claiming that you have a right to do it because you didn't publish it, or by just claiming that it's "public" doesn't show a real understanding of copyright law or much respect for the photographer.

However, the photographer posting them without watermark or copy protection isn't very smart.

All of those uploaded Youtube videos with concert footage are totally against copyright law. the writer and performer of the song are not being compensated for their work and 99 times out of a hundred the phoner (not really a filmer) is on PRIVATE property.

Just because you have a phone doesn't entitle you to jack, except paying a bill.
