Simple, what are you playing right now, any instrument, any band.

I am playing Nothing As It Seems.
Forced to endure, what I cannot forgive.

Little Wing... nice. That's a tough song.

  • I'm learning, but am getting better some of my favs right now are:

Bright Eyes: First Day of MY life
Ray Lamontagne : Still Can't feel the Gin and Roadhouse Girl
    Allman Bros: Melissa
    I'm still alive..
  • Candy Man - The Dead
always trying to learn how "nail it" down better.
    gettin close.
    :D
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • Then after i gave up tryin' to nail candyman ...
Shonen Knife's best ballad ever - Music Square
    tab (pdf?) on google docs

tune down half step (guns n roses, AiC tuning :D ) and it sound wicked mellow.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand

I am always a half step down.

    Playing Breathe - Pink Floyd.

    lol.
    a true rokker you are.

    Not here.
    Half-queer,
and rockin' out the following (half to appease my girlfriend, lol):
Madonna - Borderline - Sticky & Sweet Tour, Guitar Version
    chords
correct, except missing A#5 to B#5 to D5 right before going in to first verse.
otherwise solid, just your typical "misplaced" (poorly timed) chord changes above the lyrics.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • woop.
    then finished up with that,
and saw my quote at the bottom,
and decided i couldn't live without hearing that awesome riff in POWDERFINGER,
so i queued up that one too.
    Powderfinger @ Hyperrust

Mmm. creamy creamy distortion. so yummy.

I was just playing harmonica along to "China Cat Sunflower"

    haha, imagine that one :wtf:

I really think its time I invest in a different-keys harmonica set and retire this old "Melissa & Doug's" key of C one.

lol. you definitely need a full set of 'em.
Playin in the wrong key, you'll probably end up sounding like the harmonica equivalent of that damn dame (Donna Jean Godchaux) who pretty much fucking ruined the Dead throughout the 70's. Jesus, she was *almost* worse than Yoko.

Currently playing the Japan '77 version of Fleetwood's "Monday Morning" ... fuckin' love the intro. and the solo, while short, really gets me.

    Capo on 4.
Just three chords: open position A, D, and E(i throw on the 6 & 7 with my pinky) (played respective of the capo, der dee der)

Solo is pretty easy, although the first part of it (played at open A and D) i am hindered pretty poorly by not being Lindsay Buckingham and failing to have his amazing finger picking skills. Also, fail at having his amazing telecaster. Or his amazing afro. also, he i'm pretty sure (listen to opening chords) is using a smidge of delay.

1st part of solo (notes respective of capo on 4)

crazy pick strumming repeat each "chord", probably picking g and b, then e separately?
can be roughly approximated by using a pick and starting with up strokes.

oh damn no. If anything, it just limits the amount of notes ya can play on it, or how hard it is to find them.

and yes.....damn if the dead weren't most sizzling crackling on just at the times she was most freakin off. wtf?
and she was worse than yoko. yoko did her stuff on purpose :wtf:

sweet with the Lindsey Buckingham stuff....that is not easy

  • Shonen Knife - Top of The World
b-side, and from the unexpectedly amazing all-covers album, If i Were A Carpenter (i know. i know. i said UNEXPECTEDLY amazing)

tab by this amazing Shonen Knife fan, god love him

Super fun song to just slam out the power chords to.
get your neck and bridge tones set right, and throw the switch between them when you go from the intro (and outro) picking in to the chords, and its great.

  • Dickin around to Iggy's Highway Song

which may have a capo on 2 (or not?) ...
like the totally ripped off Velvet Underground feel of the song... particularly the solo which sounds like it was nabbed straight out of What Goes On.
(truthfully not sure who was ripping off who, lol)
fun stuff to start the day though.

Radiohead- Separator. Set up a playlist of songs from the Montreal 2012 show (lacking the bootleg) and going through it at present.
    I am mine.
  • Meat Puppets - Backwater ...

    a. because I love Curt Kirkwood's guitar leads
    and
    b. because it makes me feel like a better player than i am (easy appregios, fairly stationary solos)

  • dickin' around with Chuck Berry this morning ...
was tryin' along with the live version of My Ding A Ling, but pretty sure he has the chords changed to D#(3rdfret)my, G# my, A# i want, D#(6thfret) my: instead of what the tabs say.

Just finished foolin with No Particular Place to Go, useful tab here pretty simple little blues fills to have fun with.
