The only time i saw EC live was at the Ronnie Lane trust fund show way back in the 80's in MSG and he was great but Page & Beck were better for my taste that night , but now i don't have any interest in seeing him at all ....

    i miss jerry
  • But, to each his own. When Bruce the horse man gets 270 something pages of comments and EC gets "overrated," I guess that's all you need to know about musical tastes on this board. Hard to believe we all like PJ. Maybe, I need to re-evaluate that.

If Clapton had any association with Pearl Jam he'd be "Uncle Eric" and have a 270 page fluff thread as well.

    .

Just got his new disc and guess who plays drums on it?

    Matt Chamberlain

Not all songs, but still - you want to start the Uncle God thread, or should I?

Word is Clapton is opening today's Crossroads festival with an acoustic set

I saw him during the Sandy Benefit last December - was in awe of how much sound a 3-piece band could generate. Never seen anything quite like it.

And jamming with tonight's headliners The Allmans. Dave Mason in town for a show Saturday but not on bill. I'm thinking either Oh Elijah in the acoustic set with Doyle Brahymal II OR Derek and Dominos with the kid named after him taking SkyDogs place.

    Can't wait. Anyone else here?

  • I've sen god a dozen or so times. Never acoustic. This is going to be awesome. Of course I also know he's closing tomorrow night. :D

I'm going tonight, made the decision to buy for just one night. Makes sense that he's closing tomorrow. I think I said I'd go tonight then consider tomorrow if ticket prices on SH fell below face, but I forgot my "plan" and am going to another show tomorrow. :x :x

Beth Hart will be performing with Jeff Beck tomorrow, which will be AMAZING!

Saw him a couple of weeks ago here in Atlanta. It was as good as I thought it would be. Perhaps the most impressive thing was how he made the other musicians on the stage perform at such a higher level.
"Then the Spirit of God hovered over the water, and God said, Let there be music, and there was Pearl Jam."

Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?

Currently on the Amtrak headed to NYC for the show tonight! I cannot wait. Really wish I could have seen ABB last night, especially with Clapton playing with them. Should be an amazing night tonight though! :D

Trying to figure out a way to justify this to the wife tonight

Heard the Allmans and BB King kicked ass last night and that Gary Clark Jr stole the show

Yep. But 2 words for all you:

    Quinn Sullivan

Wow! 14 years old holding his own with Buddy Guy and Robert Randolph.

    Back again for night 2!!!

Probably my favorite moment of the night was Warren, Gregg, and Derek doing their little acoustic 3 song set.

....but, I of course have to throw in KEITH RICHARDS!!!

Such an amazing time tonight. So glad I came all the way up for the show. Pending on where the next one is, I'll have to try and go to both nights next time.

    .

You know it's a good show when thats what happens on a "side" stage.

Needle and The Damage Done was a nice little added surprise.

Too much good stuff to go through, but glad EC ended it by saying, "See you in 3 years!"
