just wanted to see who likes which version better, not turning this into a 1992 vs 2009, I don't get into those types of discussions, it is all about the music and I am keeping it focused on that, we have thousands of dead threads in this forum that have already discussed that or something similar, if I let it continue, it would of turned into something I really have no interest in, it's my thread my question, now if you have an opinion of which video, you think is better, then I would be interested in your opinionandrewb wrote:If you're asking which videos we like more, then the Pinkpop 92 Porch is probably the most iconic single performance that was ever pro-shot of the band. He jumps off a freakin' camera operator into a sea of over 50,000 people.
If you were blind listening to Pearl Jam between 92 vs. their current lineup, there is no question which band is tighter and more mature as musicians.
My question is how are you getting upset that people are answering your question that will ultimately prove nothing? There wasn't even a question stated in the first post.0 -
I haven't delved too deep in 2012 Porchs yet as the only show I saw was Made In America and chances are slim that I'll ever get to hear a recording of that bad ass greatest hits set; which didn't include Porch. But 2010 and 2011 was noticeably tighter and more agressive than 2009 for Porch.
Check out Hartford 2010, MSG 1 2010, Dublin (right out of Of The Earth) 2010, Hyde Park (right out of Black for the only the 4th time. That shit is fucking wild too) or Vancouver 2011.
And I liked the longer spaced out jams they did in 2006. Porch was like 10 mins that year.
Cameron > Abbruzzese (by a landslide)
But for the video, the 92 is always gonna be more exciting. Those dudes were high as shit playing out of their minds. He jumped off a camera crane!Post edited by andrewb onPJ

Pearl Jam - Porch (Camden '03) HD, you guys turn me on to good shit I will check it outmcgruff10 wrote:There's a lot of stipulations when answering this question....i would say compare pink pop to something of equal size....like soldier field in 95 or if they play it at wrigley this summer. it likes asking, which is better, porch at pinkpop in 92 or the unplugged version in 92. two entirely different feelings. but to answer the question, i would have to say the 92 version is much better.
my go to porch is either holmdel 03 or e rutherford night 2, 06...the jams are completely amazing. mikey and stone are just on fire!

This is accurate, regardless of the song.
Once they lost Dave, they lost the groove. This song suffered the most.ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you.

My vote: 2009
I love Pink Pop 92, but this 2009 version is incredible...totally rocks.
(Prefer Ed's vocals in 92 though.)0 -

It's closer than I would've guessed, but 92 by a wide margin.
I don't hear a tighter band on the ACL vid, I hear a more settled in band.
I'm usually more of fan of well rehearsed precision, but there's alot more said here by "young and hungry".0 -
I totally agree with you. yeah not sure how if you are a fan of guitar playing, what Mike does is incredible, I had it on fullscreen 100% volume and it literally sucked all the air out of my lungs, but I also thought the whole band played to an elite level on the 2009 version, I could watch it over and overdeftones wrote:
