I know this happened a few days ago, and it's not really debatable, but these sinkholes are pretty amazing and scary.

The prospect itself frightens the hell out of me (especially here in the land of tar pits). I heard that many sinkholes have happened in this particular area, so much that they dubbed it "Sinkhole Alley".

How awful it must be for the family of the man whose body simply can't be removed due to safety reasons. And the families in the homes next to that one.

I saw this morning in a news conference that an expert back-hoe operator went in and retrieved some items needed/precious to the homeowners...bible, purse, flag. Bless the person that had the ability and will to risk himself and manipulate those grippers to actually do that.

    Wild wild story overall.

Sinkholes used to scare me when I was a kid. Crazy bad luck for this guy.

I was looking at other sinkholes and came across this one that happened in Guatamuala City ...
