One CAN NOT mention the word Funk and NOT say the band PARLIAMENT FUNKADELIC. They created that genre of music followed my many other stars....

Rick James and Bootsy Collins to name a few...

i just picked up Parlaiment's One Nation Under a Groove LP a few weeks back.

While in college at parties as a DJ we would rock Parliament....Knee Deep/One Nation/Flashlight/Aqua Boogie the remix 12 inch version. Girls used to beg us to play Parliament this was in 1977-82 and I did which led to many other treats after we were paid. :D Always best under the influence of earthly pleasures. 8-)

  • I saw George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic in 2002. 3.5hours of one continuos song. he was like 60 at the time and he outlasted me, a 22 year old. I passed out in the club after hour 3.

haha...I've seen them 2-3 times. The first being in HS about 15 or 16 years ago and another about 5-6 years ago. The first was definitely better as the band/entourage is getting old and complacent I think. Still quite a spectacle and a fun show imo!

We used this song in some of our classic funk mixes, here's a few more we would create and use at our Student Union parties. What a sweat bath they turned out to be....
