An Open Letter to the Band

Dear Ed, Mike, jeff, Stone, Matt, and Boom--
I know many people have expressed, both on the message boards and in person, how much Pearl Jam's music has meant to them. I am no different.
This past Sunday (2/24) my father passed away. Your music accompanied me to and from the hospital during the weekend. And while I have been stumbling through my grief these past few days, your music has been my go-to source of comfort.
I realize that no one from the band may see this message, but I just wanted to put it out there anyways. On the off chance they do see this--please know that you have my deepest gratitude for helping me get through a difficult time.
Peace,
Susan

so sorry for your loss... :(

The old man paved
The broken seams along the way
The rusted signs, left just for me
He was guiding me, love, his own way
Now the man of the hour is taking his final bow
As the curtain comes down
I feel that this is just goodbye for now
My sincerest condolences and warmest sympathies.

I know many of us have used music to get us through some rough times...I hope music and memories of your Dad provide some comfort to you during these difficult times.
That's exactly what I was going to post. Man of the Hour, Release & Light Years carried me through the loss of my Dad as well. Wishing you & your family all the best during this difficult time.
Take care,
Matt

When my beloved cat died I kept listening to Long Road and Smile.
Your letter is beautiful, I hope the band read it.

This is another bonus from the band: a great community I can turn to.
I look forward to thanking you all in person in Chicago. And if not Chicago, then somewhere else down the road.
