New Orleans Bachelor Party

Hey folks...

My friend is having his bachelor party in the Big Easy on the weekend of May 17th. Any one got any suggestions/advice/warnings? I personally would prefer a classy affair (not into strippers etc) but I am probably in the minority but if i can give some good suggestions to the crew then maybe I can avoid a Hangover-esque debacle. I'm particularly curious about good spots for CULTURE-(music, jazz clubs, etc).

    Oooh this is awesome!! My best friend got married last year and we had her bachelorette party in NOLA. One of the best weekends of my life :mrgreen:

    There are so many things to do there, sooo many great restaurants and great jazz places. Of course you'll want to hit Cafe du Monde for coffee and beignets, it's a must! Royal St. is a great place to walk down to see cool voodoo shops and other kitschy places (if memory serves it's the next block over from Bourbon). The Garden District is outside the French Quarter, and it's probably the most beautiful area in NOLA. Definitely check out some cemeteries, the monuments are gorgeous. If you do that, though, make sure you take a tour. Don't walk through by yourselves because a lot of people get robbed that way. In terms of music, head over to Frenchmen street. You'll find tons of great places! There is a really great place called The Court of Two Sisters...they have this Jazz buffet...great food and a jazz band! Definitely recommend it.
