I thought it might be fun to check out Rush since they're coming to town soon... I'm not a fan, but I've heard it's a fun show with a good crowd. Fucking $104 per ticket plus TM fees?? Not even on the floor? I don't even want to know how much floor tix are. What a rip off!!! .... Unless someone can tell me they are so mind blowing live somehow that this is a reasonable price for an average (at best) seat for an ancient band?

I'm with you. Would love to see them...... for around $40.00.

I would say wait to purchase them on the secondary market. Price will usually come down, especially day of the show on craigslist etc.

 I really don't get the appeal, personally. I have indeed been shit upon for this opinion many times. I just want to check them out for curiosity's sake.

the clockwork angels tour is meh... didnt mix it up with old stuff very much.. seem like i was waiting for the show to kick off the whole night. of course top notch musicians.

Had a better time when the did the moving pictures tour.

if you wanna see a setlist do a search for one from 2012 to get a glimpse of the songs you will hear.

I'd say that's a better value than pretty much any other arena level band. They actually put that money into the show and generally play about twice as long most arena acts.

Hmm. I've seen a lot of shows at the same venue and have never paid that much for a ticket face value. But anyway, I know they have a really loyal fan base... maybe it's just that it's that much for RUSH. To me, they just don't seem worth it. But of course, I also think it would be more appropriate that they be playing at the local casino, not the hockey arena, so maybe - just maybe - I'm biased. :P

They want $75 plus fees for Nic Cave at the Vogue.
Kinda worth it though in this case.

Black Angels at Commodore for $30 inc fees.
    Great deal!!

But pricey for Rush tickets but it is an Evenning with Rush no opener.

SG was $90 and sounded like shit....

Not sure what not being a fan has to do with ticket prices .... What difference does it make if I'm not a fan? I still wanted to go check out the show (not like I HATE them... but even if I did, I'm still someone who is looking at purchasing a ticket, which is the reason I have a good reason to be talking about the ticket price!).

I don't understand with you mean by that... I did a search for best tix available, and they were $104. Why do you seem mad at me?;)

Well then you may have to pay the top price and ease up on what seems like whining. Back 2009 I payed $110 for some nice seats for ACDC and that was worth it. I had to get though a set of ear plugs for my daughter and I, that had to be one of the loudest concerts since The Who.

Well I think it's pretty clear that I am whining. It just seems like a lot to me for this band at this venue, that's all. I mean, how am I supposed to be able to afford to go to check out concerts that I don't even really like with these kinds of prices??
AC/DC though.... that's different. Now they put on a SHOW and then some (and I didn't much care for their music either).

I've seen Rush in three different decades. 4 times in total. They were the very first 'big venue' concert I ever road-tripped for (back when I was 17). I've seen ACDC back in their time as well. Both comparable: I'd go see a Rush show before ACDC though- but that's me.

Rush is a great band and put on a great show; however, just like any band... if you don't 'get them'... you can't justify forking out the bucks. $100 seems pretty reasonable in this day and age though for any 'big ticket' band if you ask me. Unless I'm mistaken... the price isn't exorbitant given their reputation.

I mean Fleetwood Mac is charging $250 for nosebleeds. Roger Waters bent me over a pommel horse... twice!

I get from your posts you haven't seen them yet. Go. Have a good time. If you manage to 'get them'... then you have a lot of listening to do that will have the potential of pleasing you. Worse case scenario... you went... expected a little more than what you received... and write them off- but saying you made an effort before you did.

By the way... I really appreciate that you caught yourself and never became beligerent like so many on here do (maybe even myself :? . Some just never let it go!

I'm not a fan of most of Rush's mid to late 80s stuff and this tour seemed to have a lot of that. I knew that going in but I was still a bit disappointed in the show. I like clockwork angels and that material sounded good though...9 songs off of the new album I believe..I preferred that to a lot of the other stuff they played though. Still not much of a greatest hits set for the casual fan so you may want to save your money, IMO. I thought both the snakes and arrows and the time machine tours were much better.

Yes ACDC's Black Ice Tour was spectacular and very loud. My daughter and her date friend had a great time, as much as she does when we attend RUSH. I can't believe I spelled paid like that. :nono:

Wow 9,000 seat arena I didn't know RUSH played venues that small. Still the sound effects should be great. I've got tickets for Sunrise/Fort Lauderdale then later tickets for their Orlando stop.
