When it rains it pours and it is pouring on the Lakers this year.
Sad news.

  • A fantastic sports owner for the fans and a really interesting guy, sad for his family.

    F Cancer.

Also, as a fellow USC alum, a sad day for the loss of one of our biggest supporters.

  • I read it was kidney failure that ultimately did Dr. Buss in.

Anyways, as a life-long Laker fan, this is really a sad day. :(

    Ahh, you are correct.

Buss died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, said Bob Steiner, his assistant. Buss had been hospitalized for cancer, but the immediate cause of death was kidney failure, Steiner said.

Haven't watched the NBA in years. But Jerry Buss was a great owner. If half the owners treated their teams and fans half as good as he did than sports would be different.

  • I realized that Harry Carry (15 years)- Dale Earnhardt (12 years) and Jerry Buss all died on Feb 18th. Kind of odd .... it also happens to be the same day my little brother died (12 years) - which is probably why i noticed.
