This goes to the top of my "Stupid Shit" list!

Stop using the "wives, mothers, & daughters" rhetorical frame that defines women by their relationships to other people.
What next, females will only be referred to as XX?

Okay. I will replace the term "wives, mothers, & daughters" with "bitches".

In his 2013 State of the Union address, President Obama **should have**said: "We know our economy is stronger when our bitches can live their lives free from discrimination in the workplace and free from the fear of domestic violence."

    Problem solved.
    You're welcome.

    Yeah.

those are the only two options.

Referring to women as the intellectual property of men or not even calling them by name.

While I think that petitioning the white house is a dumb publicity stunt, I do wince every time a couple is described as "a man and his wife" like they're saying "a man and his dog."

You never hear the term "a woman and her husband."

I don't know people have called JB Mr. Pandora

I think it was a stupid stunt too but kind of think that is merited ...
to stop labeling people as we see them.
Just say women period in the example given at least.

But then as far as possession I couldn't be prouder than to be called JB's wife,
it's been a huge part of my life and all the relationships, mother, daughter, wife,
    all based in love.

I'm pulled in two directions on this one. I guess it's another politically correct
    moment.

It's a reflection how women are defined by others based on their relationships, which is why you don't often hear the reverse for men. You see it manifest in pressure younger women get about being married, and I also see it when you hear women talk about a problem they are having. People respond by asking the woman about what others in their life think or what those others are doing about the problem, whereas with men, people respond by asking the man what he's going to do about it.
