Can some of the Chicago peeps please hook me up with some area info? Such as...
Evanston, Andersonville, North Shore, Logan Square? What's the distance to Wrigley from these locations? Yes, I've figured out exact distances, mapped it and such but I'm looking for a residents perspective..ie, Walking time, Cab or Train, Price for a cab to Wrigley, are they easy to flag ? If you had your choice of a place to stay for the week in the above mentioned neighborhoods, which would you choose and what are the pros/cons? Any info is appreciated.. I'm out for the day and will be back on tonight but please post away any info ya got.. :corn:
Thanks all..

Fuck thats a lot of info needed..
Google maps distance is accurate i bet..add much more time for rush hour times..think they even have walking time and distance..cabs are easy to land everywhere..i think evanston is farthest 20 min or so by car..not sure about andersonville??? Where the hell is that??? You can figure if you can walk based on those times..not a res..but train is the way to go if convenient..I wouldnt stay in any of these locations...stay in the city. Evanston and North Shore are in the burbs, and are probably going to be pricier to stay and a further drive, making it more costly going to and from the venue. There is a train line going from Evanston down into the city (Purple Line), but I'm not certain of the hours it runs.
It's probably a tossup between Andersonville and Logan Square. Andersonville may have the edge, though.
I live in Logan Square right now and really like the neighborhood (although it can be sketcy in parts, but I reckon you'll be staying in some of the better parts). You could take a 20-minute bus ride down Addison or Belmont and be in the Wrigleville area in about 20-30 minutes or so (depending on traffic). Buses are cheap -- $2.25 per person. If you want to cab it, it'll be a bit quicker but probably run you a $20-$30 or so fair (Guessing here -- I rarely cab it in the city cause I'm cheap. :P) Getting back from the venue, cabs will be plentiful. They should have lots of buses, too, lined up and ready to roll (at least they do after games). But you'll have a bit for the buses to fill up with people before they move out (I've waited upwards of 20 mintues before).
Depending on where you're staying in Andersonville, you may be close to a Red Line stop. Then it's just a short, quick train ride. If the train comes right away, you're looking at 5 minutes, tops. It costs the same as the bus -- $2.25. Train will be running at night, too. If you don’t want to wait for the train, you could get a cab and it’ll probably be a bit cheaper than a ride to Logan Square – maybe $10-20. I’m not as familiar with the Andersonville neighborhood, though I used to live in nearby Edgewater 10 years ago and that place could be pretty sketchy at times. But you’re going to find sketchy places pretty much everyone in Chicago.
Flagging cabs to get to the venue is hit and miss. It all depends where in the neighborhood you are in and what time you’re leaving. It may be better to call a cab company and arrange a pickup (that's what I do now for living in Logan Square). After the show, like I said, there will be tons of cabs out there. Of course, there will also be tons of people trying to get in a cab, too, which is why I prefer public transportation.
As for walking, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s about an hour between Andersonville and Wrigleyville, and a bit more from Wrigley to Logan Square. It could be a nice stroll before the show in the afternoon, but I wouldn't do it at night after the show ends.
But train and bus info, check out http://www.transitchicago.com"Where's KW?"

If you're looking for an unforgettable experience, look into Harvey, Robbins, or the Engelwood neighborhood.0

All your info is really appreciated.. I had/have 5 places lined up but the Wrigleyville was the no brainer hence the reason I didn't even ask.. Lots of great deals in all those surrounding areas but not being familiar with Chicago, a residents perspective really helped make my decision. Much rather stumble around drunk in Wrigleyville than hop a train, cab or bus just for a little extra room on a condo.
Again, good looking out Kw... Ya really went into great detail there for me 8-)
Pepper shots :fp: or whatever it is.. I got ya in Wrigley my friend."It's so nice to hear that in other parts of the world, the stress- borne from envy- that one finds for themselves is the animosity they develop towards a person selling a box of records. How fortunate!" ~ Thirty Bills Unpaid
