Any brilliant ideas? So far all I got him was a funny t-shirt. Ugh.

Most Guys dont want anything from their spouse/SO. We would much rather receive a smile from whatever we give to you followed by a kiss and who knows. Family couples just want a sitter and a nice dinner.

You may disagree, and there may be other guys who do as well. Hence the most.

Is a massage a bad idea? Obviously not a stripper massage - although maybe there's something funny about that.

(And I'll be writing about my divorce on AET in a month.)

We're conventional - it is chocolate and a card. But good chocolate. He knows I like 'weird' chocolate - like stuff with chipotle and salt in it, and I know he likes white chocolate like the Lindt white truffles.

    hookers and blow

    oh wait....that's for me.

a card typically seems to fit the bill....

way back when i did find this little chest like box...filled it with rolo's....and called it a treasure chest.

The mother in law passed away a year ago today so we are not doing anything for v-day which is fine by me. I'm still recovering from Christmas gifts.

Why so much pressure for one (manufactured) day?

I see it as this - if you want to do something special, do what you'd do on any other day when you just want to give something nice or thoughtful for the one you love.

Spontenaity (no idea how to spell that at this point) speaks loudly.

It's such a manufactured day. I agree. And yet... if my husband didn't get me anything I'd kill him.

I just bought him a nice bottle of rye whiskey (his favorite).

We don't do gifts for Valentine's anymore, just get a babysitter and go out for a nice dinner. So much easier.
