Is PJ going to play Seattle anytime soon....I thought for sure we would get a local show or 2 during Pj20 celebration...Gorge, Magnusson park revisit, Christmas show per usual...something but no...dates continue to pop up around the US and Canada, but nothing here....we see the boys around town ie. Soundgarden show the other night downtown...(awesome).....so I know everyone is busy, and they all don't necessarily spend tons of time here...but we need a show......anyone hear any whispers? It's fun to fly around and see Eddie solo, fun to see Soundgarden, and the other side project shows RNDM, etc. but we need Pearl Jam shows to recharge our rusty batteries!!!!!

    First off....welcome to the boards :D The only given at the moment is that in the coming months dates/cities for a fall tour will be announced. This was announced by the band at the same time the Wrigley and London shows were announced. Hope you get a regional gig at the Gorge!
  • Thanks for the welcome, and the info....never posted on any forum before, broke my 47 year streak when I saw the news about the Wriggley show sales.

    With every new show announcement it leaves me wanting local shows to take the kids and family too more and more.....I know that feeling left out, and thinking we would get a show over anyone else's home town is silly, selfish, and I'm being a big Seattle homer....BUT, I remember a time when..........

    Another Gorge week/weekend would epic, the stories I tell about the last shows there just get better and better with time....everyone is ready for some new stories ha ha :^)

    I guess I just am a spoiled Seattleite who misses the good old days when (at least it seemed like) PJ played here often....

    Jokingly, we always hoped all the local bands we were watching in sweaty dark hole in the walls, would eventually just play here and we would invite everyone to come join us, like Ceasars Palace Pacific Northwest :^}
    When I think about that a little more, extended engagement at CPPN sounds horrible, that idea is not very Rock n roll, definately not very punk, but who knows if it's grunge (the definition that refuses to be defined lol )...I will have to write a letter to Rolling Stone to get a ruling on that, they know everything, ha ha
  • Apparently the boys don't play where it all began anymore...Last shows in this region were back in 2009, and they were music festivals and/or crappy venues(Sleep Train Amphitheater for Portland, OR gig. UGH.). Sorry for the bitter tone guys, but I've been catching PJ live ever since they played Lollapalooza in '92 in Northern California(and EVERY Bridge School performance since the first one), and I really feel as though the west coast fans(particularly the NW fans) have been kinda getting burned appearance wise by the band since the summer of 2006. Caught all three nights of their stand at Bill Graham Civic in S.F. in July 2006 and since then all their gigs have been Outside Lands, etc. Yay for paying $120(minimum) to see them play a 50 minute set! And you have to sit through 20 Super crappy acts to get such a privilege! And deal with a ridiculous amount of hipsters who can't handle their booze wearing skinny jeans talking about how great Kings of Leon are! Hizzah!

    They have been playing TONS of gigs on the east coast, particularly Philly and N.Y., as well as plenty of European and South American gigs(go look it up, I'll wait...) but not a single show in the Northwest since 2009. Time to bring it on home fellas,. to where you guys got yer start and got so big in the first place. A ten-twenty night stand split up between Keller Auditorium in Portland and the Moore Theater in Seattle should suffice! ;-) Forgetting to show love for yer roots only does harm to you as a band in the long run, trust me.

    Seriously though, why are the fans in the Northwest getting the cold shoulder? We love and miss you guys, and your 20 year celebration really should have been in Seattle. What the hell does East Troy, WI have to do with PJ's history anyhow??!

    Rant complete.
  • Honestly did feel snubbed a little when the boys didnt play even single show in or around Seattle for pj20. It was funny, but also sort of sad to sit at Seattles Cinerama for Camerons movie and realize thats the only conection we would have with the band for the entire year...sat next to different people every night from around the country, who said they had always wanted to see pj in seattle, but since they never seem to play here any more, figured what the hell movie in seattle is at least something....lame...felt embarrassed as a home town fan honestly!

    I would love to see them play the gorge, but MSG is the worlds most famous arena for a reason.

    Hold tight fall tour should be fun...
