    thats lovely helen :)
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Thanks for the bump dunk :) that rhymes.

Well I just figured she's highly unlikely to be walking around Lisbon with her captors... but it can't do any harm to remind people :o

Not to sound heartless but I am really starting to get fed up with seeing this everywhere, I mean I really hope she is ok and found soon but to me the parents are really milking this situation.
    Astoria 20/04/06, Leeds 25/08/06, Prague 22/09/06, Wembley 18/06/07,
    Dusseldorf 21/06/07, Manchester 17/08/09, London 18/08/09, LA 06/10/09, LA 07/10/09.

Ain't gonna be any middle anymore.

i dont agree with them visiting the Pope however... what good could that possible have done, half the worlds paedos are usually catholic priests!

It just seems to me them planning on going around the world and stuff is them just getting a free holiday, nearly ever picture I have seen of them has them smilling or laughing. The thing they sould have done is not to leave the poor kid alone in that room.

beside the fact that the kidnap was in the Algrave which is several hundred kms from Lisbon (like if a kid was kidnapped in Birmingham and you tell people to keep a look out in London), I'm afraid I don't believe she's still alive :(

and looking at the blog you pointed to..I'm starting to get inclined to agree with surfanddestroy..

I agree as well. It's tragic, no doubt. But the sad truth is that children go missing all the time. There are a lot of tragedies that occur on a daily basis that are not splashed about by the media. That's the sad reality of the world. I hope she ends up alright, but this is being blown way out of proportion and is becoming little more than a media circus at this point. Let the authorities do what they are meant to do and hope for the best.

Otherwise enjoy Lisbon, enjoy Pearl Jam and look after your loved ones every day.

    Wow

Well I suppose it HAS been 3 weeks, they should stop boring us to tears with their daughter... like there aren't other missing kids in the world.

If I'd a daughter and she went missing, I'd 'milk' the media for all it's worth too and I'd shamelessly take all the 'free holidays' it would take to find her. If you're religious (which I'm not) you WOULD think visiting the pope would help. They don't think she's still in Portugal so spreading the news around the world might do SOME good. The kidnappers might think they're safe in another country.

If a child went missing in Birmingham there'd be quite a good chance she might be in London... distance doesn't matter in the one country. They're not likely to have kept her in the small tourist resort.

I didn't start this thread for the parents. I don't agree with them leaving them alone... however there IS a little girl out there somewhere alive or dead who NEEDS to be found and is still better off with her parents than whoever has her now... so I'm sorry if I pissed anyone off with this thread but I couldn't give a fuck to be honest.

And, I for one, am glad the media haven't got bored with it yet. They only keep it as a story cos people obviously still care

I do hope they find her and the person/people who took her but I can't help wondering why this particular case is having so much coverage.. I mean, it's happened before in other places right? and now the english people are all coming to us and saying that our police does a lousy work and shows no real care for what's going on? the english media really couldn't care less about the girl! they just want something to fill their pages with. I just really had to say this..

anyway, I do hope they/we find her and she's alive and well. and I do think it's a good idea to keep spreading the word around.

I've heard a rumour (i guess it is) that there was a guy seen in the plane from england to portugal who looks like the guy seen on the tape in the car with maddie in it..Something about a thing from the past were the dad was involved in. He was involved in some sort of crime related stuff, and now it is payback-time. Anyone heard about this?
    i'm not happy yet.....

Well today I've read that the family are doing some press conferences in Spain and also using the opportunity to highlight the case of another missing kid. If more missing kids come to the front because of this one case, well that can only be a good thing.

Linda I never heard that one.

when you cross the border into spain from gibraltar or vice versa there are posters of all the missing children.

I am getting very irritated that it is as if this child is better than any of them!
