Brad Manchester 08/02/2013

Just got home from the Manchester show. Great for 1st night of the tour. The version of Crown of thorns was a welcome bonus. Loved every minute. All you out there who are going to see them won't be disappointed.

How were New Killer Shoes? I noticed they had a full page advert for their new single on the inside cover of this week's NME.
Any idea on the setlist. There's one on the web but it looks incomplete:
Buttercup
Good News
Nadine
Secret Girl
Waterproof
20th Century
The Only Way
Every Whisper
My Fingers
Diamond Blues
Desenfando
Price of Love
Last Bastion
Upon My Shoulders
Miles of Rope
Screen
Plus I've no idea what Desenfando and Waterproof are.
Great show. Never been to that room in the Academy before, and I'm glad they played that small venue.
Fantastic gig, Screen and Lift were my highlights. The new song Stone sang was pretty decent too.

The band seemed incredibly tight, and really seemed to enjoy themselves. Every Whisper was my highlight!
Stones new song was pretty cool, would fit well as a Pearl Jam song. I'm guessing its been posted elsewhere, but here it is in case:

I was pretty surprised at how much I enjoyed their rockier songs. On the albums, its the slower more mellower tunes that I love.
It was an wonderful night right up to the end. As the band left Stone and Keith handed their set lists out. Once they had gone, I got the attention of one of the roadies and asked for Regans. He said yes, grabbed it for me and as he handed it over the rail, another guy grabbed it. Even though the roadie told him it was for me he ignored it and kept it. Its hardly a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but put a little bit of a downer on a great night as I've never managed to get any loot from a concert! What grated even more, is the guy I'm 99% sure he was with (tall dude with a beard and Pearl Jam flag with a load of sigs on it) got one as well! Hopefully karma'll pay him a visit! Ah well, one day I'll get me something!
Anyway, whine out of the way, it was a really memorable night. Brad really are a special band. Oh, and Happy really did seem to live up to his name!! I really hope everyone going to the rest of the gigs enjoy it as much as I did. If I could've got to Birmingham tonight I'd have made the trip!
I wish there was an awesome band who changed their setlists every show! :x
