Ben was a pussy and bailed on Natalie's appearance on the Howard Stern Show. It was great when she threw him under the bus.
It was a great appearance on Tuesday. She seems to be a very honest and open person, and I think that shows up in some of her musical interpretations.9.29.96, 8.28.98, 9.1.00, 7.5.03, 9.30.05, 6.1.06, 6.19.08, 6.20.08, 6.24.08, 10.27.09, 10.28.09, 10.30.09, 5.20.10, 9.3.11, 9.4.11, 9.2.12, 7.19.13...

I'm guessing he was afraid of getting interviewed by the best interviewer in the business. Too bad...would have loved to hear him get grilled by Stern.
Maines sounded great doing that Jeff Buckley song...good stuff.0 -
Natalie said Ben bailed because he was afraid he was going to get asked personal questions about his divorces. He was scared he would say something that would get him into trouble. Howard laughed and said of course... And he started going thru the questions he had lined up with Natalie.
By not showing up, they were both busting Ben's balls and he wasn't there.
Howard was prepared so that means that Ben was really supposed to be there. "Ta Ta Toothy" is not having his guys do research on an artist just in case they show up.
I get why stars do not want to go on the Howard Stern Show. BUT... I also think that someone like Natalie Maines has had the benefit AND the ability to cross over into an entirely new fan base like Stern's. Would have been cool to hear Ben on the show.
Chris Cornell always does very well on the show. Dave Grohl is an awesome guest.
Howard is fascinated by the rock star mentality...9.29.96, 8.28.98, 9.1.00, 7.5.03, 9.30.05, 6.1.06, 6.19.08, 6.20.08, 6.24.08, 10.27.09, 10.28.09, 10.30.09, 5.20.10, 9.3.11, 9.4.11, 9.2.12, 7.19.13...

I don't blame him for not doing the show or wanting to keep his dirty laundry in the hamper. No problem.
I just think it was weak to schedule with natalie and bail. Furthermore,as the producer of the record,he has some obligation to help try and promote the album. He knew what he was signing up for... He was a pussy for bailing.
And you know what, it's not that hard to get coached by a publicist and practice answering questions that you really don't want to answer.
Ben pussed out... Plain and simple.9.29.96, 8.28.98, 9.1.00, 7.5.03, 9.30.05, 6.1.06, 6.19.08, 6.20.08, 6.24.08, 10.27.09, 10.28.09, 10.30.09, 5.20.10, 9.3.11, 9.4.11, 9.2.12, 7.19.13...

I applaud anyone who doesn't want to make their personal lives public fodder.
Stern is the best for a reason. He could have the Pope denouncing The Catholic Church in less than an hour!"...would you like some forks?" EV 12-02-060 -
