cant send pms, why?

I am trying to send a couple pms on this forum but they keep going to my outbox, i check me sent messages and they dont show up there, how can i fix this?

    when they read them,will go to sent messages
    when are at outbox,means the person you sent them,didnt read them yet

    still have a pm sitting in my outbox from a month ago so thought it was something i was doing wrong
