Yes after 20 years of playing guitar I bought a new electric and have been practicing all those power chords, bar chords, and everything else I've always found a way to cheat around.
Any suggestions on some very simple standards......pj or otherwise, but pj of course.

Downtown - Neil Young and the boys
Mama Kin, the GnR version, with some blues pinky hammer ons.
Hit Me With Your Best Shot, fuck the solo though
Sweet Jane
Mountain Song - Janes Addiction

Wind Cries Mary - Hendrix (more or less)
Daytime Dilemma - Ramones, Pearl Jam
Time For Me To Fly - REO Speedwagon (in open D tuning)
Feel Like Makin Love - Bad Co. (Chorus, but most REO and Bad Co hits can be played all power chord if you don't care about the open string sound)
More Than A Feeling - Boston (chorus)
I Love Rock & Roll, Hate Myself For Loving You - Joan Jett (probably any song by her you can name)
What Goes On In Your Mind - Velvet Underground (D,C,G. A,G,D. probably open chords but who cares, it rocks hard)

Hyde Park 250610
Bridge School Benefit 23/241010
Manchester MEN 210612
Amsterdam Ziggodome 270612
Berlin '02' 040712
Meat Puppets - Backwater and Station ... both very similar rhythms, and 3or4 chordish easy playing for verse and chorus. If you wanna fuck with the leads, then god speed.
Kings of Leon - Fans, and Day Old Blues ... again, both somewhat similar patterns, 3 chords, and very easy. no real leads to worry about. Day Old Blues not technically "power chords" but a pretty easy 3string inversion to fret.
If I opened it now would you not understand?
American Idiot Greenday
Monkey Wrench Foo Fighters
Waiting for the next PJ euro Tour
Hoping not to get drown in the wave of life
