Aw. I'm sorry you going to have to miss it. I know how that feels.

Sometimes events just conflict and it makes you sad. :(

That's too bad, although last minute revising is never a good idea, you need to 'relax' before taking an exam - if you do manage to go think how pumped up you'll feel the next day, you'll totally wing that exam! ;)

I think I have that same exam but on a different exam board so mine is earlier. My business studies exam is on the 21st but I'm still going :) I'm sure you can get tickets to another show! Think of it as an end of exams treat or something :)

May 2000 - 2 Pearl Jam shows before my final A-Level exam.

May 2003 - Springsteen show and Champions League Final before my last exam for my uni degree.

Went to all 4 events, some things are too good to miss out on.

Revise through the night if you have to, but you should know all you need to know way before deadline day.

i have one exam on 18th and the other on the 19th and it's all to do with accountancy! and at first i thought oh, no way i'll be able to go cause exams are important, but then i thought if i don't go i'll be sitting all day not revising only thinking about how i've missed the damn show! so, if i get the tickets i'm going for sure! hell yeah!!!!!
i'm fed up with studying this, studying that, fuck exams! it all about PJ!!!!!!!!!!! :D:):D:):D

    BINGO.
Honestly, English is the most wingable subject on the planet, shit you can get 50% from the EXTRACT ALONE. Honestly, you should be fine, but you know yourself if it's worth it, personaly I'd go. Plus like thers have said, there are other dates.

Back in 2000 I had an exam the day after the Pearl Jam show by this time you have learnt everything you will for the exam and going to a gig the day before is not going to hinder anything (unless you got blind drunk)

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

That's true. I say, go to the gig, if you have to leave a bit early or something, then so be it. You just don;t want to be beating youself up about it in years to come.

I take it it's in the morning, then?

Assuming you do it straight away - 18. Though it's changed since my day (makes me sound old...).

Now the exams are AS (half an A-Level) and A-Level.

    AS at 17, A-Level at 18. Ish.

Like Binaural said, English is an easy exam to get away without doing a lot of revision. You could just do a lot before the show. I only did about an hours revision of my english literature AS level and I somehow got an A  So go! You'll regret it otherwise!

Plus, if you're taking a gap year or something you can always re-sit the exam :)

It depends on how demanding the course is doesn't it? The higher the grade, the more likely it is that you'll get into a popular class or something.

    Yup. So A = Good, F = Bad.

So the best universities will ask for (E.g.) 3 A Grades
