Wow. I have GA tickets as well, but I do not see me staying in line that long, there are better things to do to spend my time in hawaii i think. I guess I'll be in the back if anyone is looking for me...

  • I've been monitoring the u2 message boards periodically and most people were not thinking of lining up the night before. Now with the ariticle mentioned above, a feeding frenzy might ensue.

Wouldn't you rather spend the morning with a few mimosas and then head over to the venue? The U2 u-shaped stage allows for far more people to be up front or on the rail than most PJ shows. I think its all hype and we will all be fine lining up Saturday. I paid money for a bed not a sleepover in a parking lot.

i've just seen so many things about how many GA tickets were given out. I dont mind getting there somewhat early on Saturday, not crazy, but i'll wait a bit. No idea what time to get there yet. I just don't want to be so rediculously far away. ya know?
  • From the article it seems like it should be pretty organized, but you never know.
Im serious .... hawaii is totally different as far as being organized but it sounds like the live nation people are totally working with them to have it organized.

Probably for one .... more than likely ... the locals will not line up like this early like the night before. They always wait till last minute for everything.

omg ... good luck to all the ga people.
    It should be interesting.

LukinTimer and I are torn about what time to get there too...
If you're in the back of thousands of people at field level, that's bad.. BUT I too feel like there are many other things to do with our time there, other than hanging out in a parking lot!!
    See ya there somewhere!!

For those struggling with that link, here it is. I guess I'm heading over around 4 or 5 then :p

As of 4 PM HST there is no line. The stage is being constructed and 2 people at the venue informed me that the sound equipment is going to be set up tomorrow. My guess is that soundchecks will be sometime between tomorrow late day and Saturday afternoon.

The stage looks freakin huge, but thats pretty normal for U2.
  • I have a feeling it will be mainly Pearl Jam people lining up the night before.

Everyone I have spoken to with ga tickets (not from this board) they are not doing the overnight thing or even early line thing.

  • It would be a cold day in Hawaii before I would line up that early. It simply isn't worth it to me. Last December when the U2 tour was in Cleveland I was in the line for less than an hour and I got into the elipse. The stadium shows don't have the elipse but I really feel that you would be able to get to the front later if you really wanted to. Personally I hate GA shows and if U2 has another one that I go to I will be paying for a seat.

  • Does anyone get the lay out of the stage from the map?
What are those two things that shoot out the sides from the stage?

You just don't know the die hards. I know people who have waited at least 24 hours in line in the snow for U2 GA. Don't worry. People will line up.

The Honolulu Advertiser is wrong. Security at the venue told me today that the line starts at 12 AM tonight. Forget that though. I have a job. I'm rollin down there tomorrow night though.
  • I wonder if there is people there right now?

the two bits coming out from the stage are walkways leading to b stages.

Bono/Edge spend a fair bit of time on these areas so it means if you get into the front section of the General Admission then you cannot fail to have a good view of the action.

Whether or not Eddie, Stone, Mike or Jeff will use them is another matter though . Can imagine Mike having a run down during a few solos maybe.

God i wish i was there.
