Hmmm, we were just discussing something. I saw a picture of the stadium full for a show in another thread that makes me wonder:
    concert.jpg

There is a little separate section in front of the stage, could that be the GA pit? And then the area behind and on the sides the reserved field? So there you would be standing? An would then the lower bowl be seated and you could get seats that are as far as behind the homeplate? :?
  • This might be OT a bit... but what are some decent hotels in the area? we will be flying in from canada, looking to make a great weekend with my husband! :D
the oceans made me, but who came up with love?

    In,
2nd choice, my fiance's 1st. Good call by the person who referred to it as the couples' section.

Coming in from Boston, my best friend & his wife are coming up from Phonex, it will be their 1st show.

That would be, or at least seem to be, correct if the seating and layout is anywhere close to those of other shows. The GA pit will be that little separate section you point out directly in front of the stage. The reserved seating on the field will be directly behind the GA pit. The lower bowl reserved seating will be in the lower evel seats you see that could go all the way behind home plate and also on the sides. Originally, I thought that the 10c would be given a high number of these lower level/field reserved seats. Now after seeing how many people got shut out, I don't know. With that said, I would guarantee that the 10c was allotted the best seats on the field and on the lower level. But what the hell do I know?

I didn't score tickets, but my dad is a 10c member and only put in for the lower reserved and won! We'll be there!

Me and the wife are in!!!

Will be flying into Chicago from the beautiful Outer Banks of NC right in the middle of the busy tourist season...BONUS!!!

This will be our second Chicago show but the fact that it's going down in Wrigley makes this one an absolute must.

On the down side, July now feels like it's 27 months from now.

    See you all there!

  • My boyfriend and I will be there! I am so excited for him to go to his first show!
  • Yes, will be there.

Don't have the greatest number so hoping for a lower baseline seat but who knows. My wife and I saw Bruuuuuuuce last fall there as well and were second row from the top. Great show and despite all the negativity, I thought Wrigley was a great concert venue. This will be our fifth show together (plus two Ed shows), pretty stoked about this one. Had fifteenth row for PJ20 so I'm assuming the seats aren't going to be as swell but I could be behind the stage for all I care. Just want to be there and enjoy the experience :D
Hey, hey. My, my. Rock and roll can never die.

"Why go home? I am home! And I gotta tell you, it feels FUCKIN GREAT to be here. You may experience this yourself but, if you were born in Chicago, you're always from Chicago. And even if you don't live in Chicago, Chicago will always live in you."-Ed
  • It was my first choice, so yes, I am.

Glad my entry was drawn. Being completely honest, I would have simply gone to Stubhub without thinking anything of it had it not been- that's what I did for PJ20, Music Midtown, and Vedder @ Chicago Theatre '11. This is my first Ten Club ticket-buying foray, so 1-1 isn't a bad batting average. As with many, this was my second choice after GenAd. I'm actually quite glad I didn't draw those, as this is going to be a 3 hour show in the middle of summer in Chicago- you're going to want to be able to sit down (unless you're a masochist).

I saw Paul McCartney at Wrigley in 2011- had seats in the upper tank along the 1B lane. I thought it was absolutely great despite the long distance from my seat to the stage. I think those on the upper level of the grandstand get to appreciate the amazing setting.

Apart from Ten Club, I subscribe to My Morning Jacket's Roll Call (their version of 10C). Ironically, because I was preoccupied with checking the results of the Wrigley drawing, I missed the fact that Jim James announced dates for his solo tour this morning with a pre-sale for subscribers taking place at the same time as the Ten Club drawing. Missed it entirely. As of this writing, I haven't sworn off my fandom of Jim James/MMJ, and have abstained from creating a thread on their website calling attention to my plight.
Never has gravity been so uplifting.

Thanks for the heads up! How far is it from Wrigley?
the oceans made me, but who came up with love?
  • Woot! I'm in for reserved field/lower bowl. So how does this work, is field reserved folding chairs behind the GA? If so, I'm kinda hoping for close lower bowl seats. So fucking stoked for my first visit to Wrigley to see the best band in the whole wide world.
