Parking Advice For Wrigley
Sorry if this has been discussed already, did a quick search and did not see anything. I'll be driving into Chicago from WI for the show and driving back afterwards. Does anyone know of any cheap/safe lots that are relatively close to Wrigley that can be reserved online in advance. I've seen parkforwrigley.com, but reviews I've seen have been a little mixed. Any advice is appreciated. Thank You

For Springsteen last July I was able to get parking within a 5-8 minute walk for about $20 around 30 minutes before showtime. Didn't seem to be a big deal. I can't tell you where I parked but I'm sure you'll find spots without a reservation.
Traffic may be bad before the show but I like the convenience after the show in getting to my car and on the road quickly.

Park outside and use the trains

Thanks everyone for the advice. This was what I was thinking too. Do you know of a good place to park and hop on the train? O'Hare maybe? Also will trains be running that late after the show? Thanks again for your help!

You should be able to park around Loyola University (public lots) or at Howard St (both are north of Wrigley Field), and take the Red Line train to Addison. Don't try to drive to Wrigley Field. If you park anywhere around there illegally, you will be towed by Lincon Towing in a flash. Remember the Lincoln Park Pirates song by Steve Goodman? The red line has 24 hours service, or at least until 3am.
Another option, and one that will probably save you time in the end, is park in a garage like the one at Century Mall at the corner of Clark and Diversey. It will be around $20. Walk north on Clark to Wrigley. You'll pass lots of fun bars and restaurants and record stores on that ~1 mike walk. Your car will be safe.
Hope that helps
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?
You can park up near Loyola University - but keep in mind that's not the best of neighborhoods. I would rather drive into downtown Chicago, park at one of the secured lots there - and take the Red Line in from the south.
If you work it that way, you'll pay a little bit for parking (probably around $30-40 for the day) - but your car will be safe and sound - and you won't have to deal with traffic coming out of Wrigleyville on a Friday night. Sure, you might park your car a 5-10 minute walk away from the stadium, but then it'll take you forever to actually drive out of the underage-drinking-college-crowd cluster which will surely develop on a Friday night in the summer...
Park downtown - hop on the red line - when you get back to your car at the end of the night, you'll only be a 5 minute drive from the expressway.
purple line to howard, red line to addison.
parking is a couple of bucks, 2.25 each way on the L, you are two miles from 94
makes zero sense to drive to the loop and pay 30 bucks to park.
this. there are plenty of reasonable garages by the Grand red line stop.
For someone familiar with the area - and who lives up north, that would make sense. But for an out-of-towner? No way.
The sense in parking downtown is convenience and safety - especially for someone coming down from Wisconsin who doesn't know the area.
Like the person after me commented - you can get plenty of parking downtown for $11 or less. The lot across the street from my building has a "Night-Life" special parking rate:
- In after 4pm
- Out before 7am
- $8.00 (in a secure, covered garage)
- 0.3 miles from the red line stop (6 minute walk, according to Google Maps).
And then, you're only 5 miles from the stadium, 5 minutes from the expressway, and only have to take one train ride. Plus, if things get really hairy that night, you have about 2 dozen hotels to pick from within a quarter mile of your car.
Here's the lot:

Here's a map from the lot to the red line stop:
EDIT - PS - You can buy parking in advance (online) with this lot.
You can google the directions but if I remember right, it isn't that far off 94.
