I'd love this. Hearing in the Moonlight was a huge highlight of PJ20, so this would be appropriate too. Maybe open the first encore with Strangest Tribe, then right into Slow Lukin and then Just Breathe. Would be an encore for the ages.

This.....would be excellent. How about they open the first encore with it, yeah? It certainly would be better than Just Breathe.

I'm down for 1st encore opener... Shit, I'd be happy if they played opened with Strangest Tribe, walked off stage, and Wrigley was over... would be well worth the 1,000mile drive!

They'll likely save it for their stadium show at Jacobs (Progressive) Field in Cleveland.

Great song - but talk about lulling the crowd to sleep. Yikes. 8-)

Yeah, I don't see this song being played at a stadium show but I would be happy to be proven wrong. :D

This. Would. Freaking. Rule. But it won't happen. Ed is 'religious' for the Cubbies, but otherwise it has no real relevance to the event (i.e., opening with "Oceans" at DeLuna)...it's a Christmas song.

BTW, here is one of the better fan interpretations of the song meaning (which also happens to be my own)...great song, Stone (and Ed)!

    >'The theme is sarcastically religious. This is a condemnation of the materialistic and commercial view of what was once a holy day. His eminence is Christ, buried by the current views of Christmas, or "sideways" snow (suggesting it is coming from an odd or inappropriate place). Waiting for 6 am is waiting for a chance to open presents. Having the feast and wanting more is simply a statement of gluttony. In short, Christians of the western heritage are the strangest tribe, having replaced a faith in a religion with a celebration of excess and commercialization

Back up, lets not forget about this. I'm looking for some real deep cuts at Wrigley, and this would be the cherry on top.

I was convinced Ed was building up to playing it in Manchester last year but I was still pretty stunned when they dropped Hitchhiker on us. It makes you feel like you got something extra special. Strangest Tribe would be amazing to see getting debuted though but I'd rather they played it at a gig I can make it to! You never know with PJ, Hitchhiker at my last show, Of The Earth debut at my first. Bump for 2013 though!! ;)

I know I'm not the only one DYING to hear them play Strangest Tribe!! Honestly, I don't even care where or when they play it, but a live version of this masterpiece sure would be nice... Who's with me!!!!?!?!

    :corn:

You know I'm on board with this, even though Wiggly Filled is not on my agenda. We tried in Missoula to no avail.

Somehow I can't get this out of my head. I'd love to hear this, and am really looking forward to the Wrigley surprises. I know Ed and the Band have some great surprises for us and I CAN'T WAIT.
Maybe Mankind into Strangest Tribe.....kind of close the loop on those songs. There are so many awesome variations that include Strangest Tribe.....can't wait.
