Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town because I spent a summer un West Virginia working for a relief agency and met an elderly woman who worked behing a counter and it was a small town. Ever since then that song has always reminded me of people and their resolve to be good regardless of whatever situation they're born into.

I'm always going back to The Long Road for my favorite song. It's very touching that Ed wrote it for his high school drama teacher after he had died and myself being a high school drama teacher it just really touches me. Thanks Dimi!!

Dimi...i don't know you, but your posts crack me up...and you seem like a great person...thanks for this opportunity...

i just learned of Mrs. Charlene Schiff's death (a Holocaust survivor, who spoke at my school for the past ten years, sharing her story...she lived in the forest by herself for two years!!) I felt like i knew her after hearing her story for so many years....and i am now sad...and listening to Long Road...which is always a favorite when i am sad and remembering someone who has passed...

PS- if youhave never heard of Mrs. Schiff, please google her story...she is a true hero...both for her survival, and for sharing her story with thousands if not millions of people!
