Are these the type of stories we can expect? Adding more guns into the equation, is that what the situation really calls for?

People are fucking more ons

This is exactly what we can expect. The idea that these rent-a-cops are going to be highly and specially trained is laughable. This will be one more position filled for the lowest possible salary.

It's an absolute fucking disgrace. How can people support this? What really gets me is, some people think it completlely rational that armed guards should patrol a school (a fucking school for christsake) but the idea on a rational debate over legislation and improved regulation and they go bat shit fucking crazy.

Was it you who said "if this is what it's like to be wrong then I don't want to be right"?, about sums it up.

    Gun ho and away!
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

I might have said something like that. :D

One guard in a school large enough for say 2,000 kids. What happens when that guard is on the far side of campus when the shooting starts? How does that guard prevent kids from being killed? My biggest problem is that these guards are being viewed as a guarantee that they will stop a shooting. In the right circumstance maybe one would but that is far from a guarantee.

These rent a cops will be the new scape goats when it all goes wrong again. The NRA and their ilk will say that the guards did not act appropriately or required further training. They'll make it about the person and once again attempt to dodge the problem.
