FUN. - Some Nights

Am I the only one on these boards who thinks this album is actually really good?
It's kind of strange; the intro song reminds me of some kind of cross between Pink Floyd's The Wall, Bohemian Rhapsody, and a Broadway musical.... The album really reminds me of a kind of opera, actually. But anyway, I think it's a really cool album. Different and definitely FUN. It's not what I would normally go for... It even occurred to me to feel like a goof for liking it, but then I remember how stupid that was. I think it's a really good nominee for album of the year and best pop vocal album (although I think Blunderbuss should win album of the year, and "We Are Young" was nominated for song of the year, and I think it should have been Carry On instead). Not that I give a shit about the Grammies, but still.
The album was really well produced on vinyl too. It sounds great, and it came with a CD embedded in the album jacket, inside the gatefold, which is a pretty good idea.
I could do without those parts on the album where they decided to distort the vocals in a few of the songs though.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

Also, your post is a little bit of j.a.c.k.a.s.s.e.r.y.
Yeah it's definitely different, and anytime I hear a FUN. song I am immediately in a good mood, which is super awesome. I haven't really listened to any new 'happy' music since Mika's first record!

Haha, right?! I swear, every time Some Nights come on, I immediately crank it and sing along. That song will never get old to me. He does write some good lyrics too.
Because of this thread I listened to the album on the way home from work. Yeah, it's awesome.

Some Nights= autotuned disappointment
However, they have stepped up their game live and are really excellent and, well, fun!
