    That mother should be ashamed of herself....unless that child has the worst genes in the entire world she should not have that many cavities and to that extent.

    Not only was a minor child given sedation, but a procedure was performed without parental knowledge nor consent? WHAT?

    No health care 'professional' in their right mind would do that.
    Not only is it unethical, it is entirely, completely 100% illegal.

    This makes absolutely no sense.

    I dunno how common it is, but it happens. Several people on my wife's side of the family have soft teeth, and all kinds of dental problems that go with it. My younger daughter seems to have gotten the trait and while it's not nearly as bad as this story I could easily see it happening, even with proper dental care.

    what?!?!?! I have a four year old, he's not going to get sedated and have dental work without me in the room.

    There has to be - at least I hope so.

    What dentist would consider a full-on metal look for a child is OK, especially when the white veneers are available?

    And wouldn't the mom have to OK the additional cost? I'm sure all of that work was more expensive vs having a few cavities filled.
