Well... actually... if you think about it... she's right. The murder rate is much higher amongst blacks and Hispanics, than it is with whites. What we really need to do is ask ourselves whether we want to address and fix this problem or not.
Maybe part of the problem is that we... America... accept these deaths in the black and Hispanic communities. I mean, we hear about these tabloid-esque murders when a white woman murders her kid or hires a hit on her husband and those stories remain at the forefront of our broadcast media... but, we rarely hear about all of the murders in the poorer communities. It shows up in a 8 line paragraph in the local newspaper... but, other than that, it is just a statistical number that people can wave about to promote their political views.
Is that because we don't really care... if young black men are killing young black men?
