So. I just got another email from a colleague looking for a LinkedIn recommendation. I get these all the time and most of the time I'm happy to do it if it's with someone I've worked closely with or I know is good at what they do. But there have been times where I've gotten requests from either people I have hardly worked with or with people I plain don't like. What is the proper way to handle said requests? Just ignore them?

I have been advised by counsel not to provide recommendations.

    Blame it on the lawyer.

    That will be $800 please.

Well that's the thing. I'm a firm believer in not burning bridges, so I don't want them to feel like I'm ignoring them...even if I am! And some people are relentless with the requests, which come to my email, so I can't say I didn't log on. Guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and write some vague rec. :x
