How come the DC show is getting no love?

Here are the shows I've been to over the years:

Camden 1 98
Merriweather 98
Camden 1/2 00
Merriweather 00
Spectrum 03
Nissan Pavilion 03
Camden 1/2 03
Hershey 03
Holmdel 03
Reading Pa 04
Borgata 2 05
Philly 05
Camden 1/2 06
DC 06
Camden 2 08
DC 08

I don't think I've ever seen a bad Pearl Jam show. Hershey 03 was probably my least favorite.

That DC show rocked. I think the fans at the DC shows usually stink, but they were great the other night. The band was on and had a ton of energy. The set list was awesome, for my taste. Hail, Hail, Who You Are, Sad, Hard to Imagine, I got ID, I am Mine, RVM, Black, Come Back were just a few of the highlights for me.

I was also at the Camden 2 show and that rocked just as well. I was just a little more into the setlist of the DC show.

Anyway, just a great show all around. Only other show I would have liked to catch was Camden 1 because they played In Hiding and All night. I'd love to hear either one of those.

I think DC is perceived as the best show of the tour among people who have gone especially most shows up until MSG.. I think it's getting a lot of love a lot more than I thought it would have before I saw the most incredible show pj play and I have been to Gorge 1 2006. It was a massive effort by the fans and the guys...

I was one of those ten clubbers on the sides rocking out :)

that DC show ruled! i was also one of the ten clubbers rockin out over in section 112. i thought the crowd was super fired up, and you could tell that the band really fed off of that energy.

"sad" was probably my biggest highlight, i really like that song. i also like crazy mary with boom's solo, and come back.

  • Yeah what makes you think it gets no love?

Just do a search and you'll see that it's quite the opposite.

I agree and I posted as such earlier on another thread. It was in the top 5 shows I've seen and like you, I was at Gorge I & II in 2006. The crowd was really into it and putting out massive love and energy. I think the guys really enjoyed it - even Ed said "Wow, I don't know what we did to deserve this".

It was my 11th show. Can't say it was my favorite, but it was up there. Definitely a great show, particularly the first third and the final third. I loved how they opened with Hard to Imagine>Severed Hand>Hail Hail>and finally building up to the best DTE I have seen. Great pace for the opening few songs, opening easy, adding heat, and then coming to a boil.

Yeah, it was awesome. Definitely the best of the 5 shows I've been to (Pittsburgh 2000, Camden 1, 2 & DC 2006).

Great setlist. Great energy from the band and crowd. Just a great show.

If you went to the show and it was great isn't that all you need, do you really need people on a website to "give it love" to justify that it was a great show, as long as you know or think it was great, that's all that should really matter.

Awesome show with a great setlist. People seem to be saying DC crowds are usually not that great, but the crowd was way into it on Sunday night. Come Back was great and the way they rocked out on RVM was unbelievable.

Great fricken show! I've got a lot of love for it.
  • I am sure the DC show was kick ass, as I am sure all of the shows have been.

I was at the Columbia show and I feel it isn't getting enough love either. Those that were there, I think, would agree. This show was unreal, the setlist was killer and the band was in unbelievable form! I can't wait to get the boot!

I try to refrain from the whole "which show is the best" because each show is special to the people that where there....like I said, I am sure each show has been awesome.

the way they rocked out on RVM was unbelievable.
that was the best version of RVM i have seen.
  • i can't wait to get that one and Bonaroo. i just downloaded the WPB show that i was at and it's great. Wish I could hear Mike a little better, it must have been recorded from the left side (my right) of the stage.

DC had potential to be a great show with such a sick setlist. But the crowd was lame compared to Camden and MSG.
  • I've been to 11 shows. This was my 3rd in the DC area and definitely the best. I liked the setlist and the crowd had energy.

I honestly liked the Va Beach crowd better though, and the setlist too. It was definitely a top 5 show for me. Which is good because all I wanted was for it not to suck.

I think the thing with DC and southern shows is that there are just different fans there. There are pockets as intense as any anywhere, just not as many of them.

The Columbia show had a great setlist. I'm going to purchase the boot for this reason.

guess it depends where you were because i actually felt the energy more in camden 2 than either of the msg shows. had some aholes in my section at msg2, including one yelling at ed to 'shut the f*ck up and sing' when he was talking before 'no more'. that kind of stuff makes me irate.

I went to both DC and MSG, both shows were great. any time PJ walks on stage and im there, its awsome. i just felt the sound at DC show was off, over amped and muddy;( I thought both shows had great crowed involvment, just seemed MSG1 flowed a little better. I'll always remember the spectrum in philly, that venue had such great sound, thats why i wanted to try and see the band at verizon centre. id see PJ in a feild if that was my only choice, thanks guys, you made this a great summer, and u didnt even really have to.
