Thursday, the Los Angeles Dodgers celebrated their 2013 NL West title by taking a swim in the Chase Field pool.

That has upset some folks in Arizona, which makes sense. The Dodgers had already been asked not to return to the field after celebrating in the clubhouse, yet they did so anyway.

"I think it's tired and disrespectful," D-backs infielder Willie Bloomquist said of the dip in the pool. "It's surprising because they have a lot of veteran guys on that team that I thought were classier than that."

Bloomquist, though, made sure to give credit to the Dodgers for winning the division. But that does not mean he's happy about how they've decided to celebrate.

"But there's a fine line between going overboard at someone else's place and doing that, I think," he added. "But what are we going to do about it? There's not much we can do about it now. They've clinched the division this year, but if that's how they're going to act and be classless, that's their gig, that's their clubhouse. I just think it's disrespectful and classless."

However, the guess here is that's not of much concern to the Dodgers. The teams have been bitter rivals for the better part of the last three seasons, with a brawl breaking out between the two earlier this season when some beanballs were thrown.

So, whether or not this is a classless move or not, it appears the rivalry is about to get even more heated.

maybe if the d-bags hadn't lost a 9.5 division lead we wouldn't be celebrating in their pool!

and what useless, waste of oxygen baseball team has a fucking pool in their stadium? oh yeah, one that has one of the shittiest fan bases in baseball

i knew this day would come but i really REALLY don't want this day to come :( :( :( :(
ATLANTA -- Legendary Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully said in a radio interview that 2014 might be his last season behind the microphone.

Scully, 85, announced earlier this season he would return next year for his 65th season announcing Dodgers games. He began his career in Brooklyn, moving west with the Dodgers in 1958.

"I'm pretty well sure -- and I don't want to go back and forth with it -- but I'm looking to next year and thinking that should be about it," Scully told KPCC.

For this postseason, Scully is returning to his radio roots, announcing the first three and final three innings of the Dodgers' NLDS games against the Atlanta Braves. He has in the past threatened to retire the following year only to change his mind and return. During the regular season, Scully does not travel to games east of Denver.

Los Angeles' new mayor, Eric Garcetti, floated the idea of naming a street after Scully, but the broadcaster said he didn't feel worthy of such an honor.

He clarified his comments later on so I don't see the reason for the uproar. He's been taking it year-by-year for a while now as he's scaled back his travel. Kind of goes along with when he's talking about a player's injury as "day-to-day," and his famous response, "Aren't we all?" While I'm thankful he's decided to come back for another year, there was a small part of me that selfishly wanted this to be his last year (with the Dodgers winning it all so he could ride off into the sunset on a win) so that I could say that I was fortunate enough to meet him in his last season. Either way, thankful I got the opportunity and anxious for the game tomorrow.

Clayton Kershaw is a bad dude. He always seems to have one inning early on where he struggles a bit and runs his pitch count up but then settles in and cruises. I thought he'd struggle a bit after that Upton at bat that went 9-10 pitches, but wow did he ever recover the rest of the way.

It may be a little counter intuitive, but hoping the series goes four since a friend invited me to the game on Monday.

Kershaw came through for us. Now it's Greinke's turn, let's go Dodgers!
