That's all. Just thought I'd start an AMT thread about something other than you-know-whats.

No g. or f.a. or h.g. etc. words allowed. Don't cheat!

What's on your mind?

You have doubts, you are entertained to the point of laughter and yet you have questions and more questions.

    Hmmm... more hints, please! :)

I see what you did there
  • Good morning. Here's what's on my mind right now. Does everyone suddenly have to sign in yet again in order to use email or post?

Maybe it's just the weather but lately, there seems to be odd happenings going on with the internet and/or things plugged in. Like on Sunday's of late, we've called about the TV not working for 3 Sunday nights now (playoff time) or the internet won't always load right away and when it does, it's slow. I'd consider the busy overload explanation except my music (not on internet) just blinked off and it's Monday. For the past few weeks it's become an eerie pattern; electrical things blinking back, freezing up or plum ass not working (toaster oven won't work now which happened at the same time "blinking" was going on elsewhere). this has been happening on my laptop too and not just when I'm at home but in other towns as I regularly travel.
Yep. Paid my electric bill and yep, laptop is not yet a year old; desktop about 3 years.
It's got me thinking about how California went thru those rolling blackouts, if I remember correctly, compliments of Madoff raping the state.

Hey, dancepartner... they've been messing around with the site for the new ticketing "thing" they are using. I have to log in in two separate places to post on here. :fp:

    What's it doing for you?
  • peacefrompaulpeacefrompaul Posts: 25,293
Well I guess one place technically! I have to log in in another so I can log in and log off
  • Aha! ticketing thing?
do you know if this is going to become standard?

Only time will tell, I suppose! I have no idea!

I assume they'll figure it out someday here. :fp:
  • So I did wonder after I posted, now how's Paul to know that...
so yeah, I guess we shall see. My vote is NOT to have 2 sign-ins.

    No worries

    I agree with you 100%! Can't wait until it's fixed! :x

Catefrances- don't worry, I'm fucking confused half the time myself. It's not so bad despite the fact that it gets to be more so as you get older and you... ah... you know.. ahh shit- what were we talking about?

Peacefrompaul- yes, you did see correctly! Gold Star!

Dancepartner- yes, I often have to log in twice now. A little glitch in the system, it seems. Solar flares maybe?

What's on right now is how I'm going to pay my PG&E bill (electricity) that is way higher than it's ever been. I've done nothing different yet my power bill is up quite a bit. I suspect the last bill probably contained a tiny note with very high print saying the rates have gone up. I always just recycle these bits of paper. I suppose I should read them. Weird that gas hasn't gone up as well.

    Outstanding!
  • You see, enviormentalism will prevail! Soon, we won't be able to pay those bills! problem nearly solved.

before you sell your body for fuel, maybe you can put some of that brianbrainpower to use. invent some backyard trap door down to the oil holed up in the california bedrock sell.
If you make it sound "feasible" why hell, they sound deperate enough, (sorry, combining the oil thread here)somebody will take your bait long enough for you to at least pay a few more electric bills!!

I want to set up a big wind turbine in the backyard. I wonder who would come after me first....

    The landlord?

    The police?

    Xcel Energy?
  • that's actually, well funny, but also a good turn for this.
though expensive still, there are ways to sell energy back to the grid though I think owning a bit of land with some space is standard as large solar panels & turbines take that but you present a thought worth asking in-house expert brian about.
Brian, are there compact ways in which city dwellers can sell back to grid? rooftop enterprises?

I've heard some cities are helping home owners with solar panels but since I live in a small town I don't know much about that. If I ever find a place that I feel comfortable staying in long term, solar will definitely be a part of the plan!

Environmental good news stories are often few and far in between these days so it was great to come across this article with five good news stories. :)

Me neither. And I keep hearing the word "Gangnam" or something like it... comfortably numb I'll chose to stay..
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

This is hilarious! I had no idea what the whole Gangnam thing was either, kept hearing references...then I saw/heard this dude, and lost yet more faith in some of what people make popular these days.
