Let me start by saying that I've never really been a fan of the song.

I was working out the other day and Lisbon 06 night 2 came up. State that night was just amazing. Check it out.

does anybody have any stand out versions of songs?

as i said before and not because i was at the shows but both lisbon nights as some (if not the best versions ) of songs of the whole 2006 year tour

night 1 - evenflow , corduroy , last kiss , small town , crazy mary

night 2 - save you , state of love and trust , daughter with a fantastic and amazing its ok tag , i believe in miracles , footsteps , alive , better man and rockin a free world , yellow ledbetter

needless to say i think the best european show was the 2nd night in lisbon in my opinion

Solat from the second show at the forum in LA, im biased bc i was there, but compared to other versions from the tour, its unreal, Mike throws into overdrive.

please explain what this compilation is and how I can get ahold of it.
  • I reckon the older versions of State are much better.

I was also at Lisbon (both nights) and I think they play it way too fast (like alot of their stuff these days).

I remember when SOLAT and Even Flow had a groove about them.
    Now its just fast.

I thought so too, but if you read the book "five against one" it says this version is really the studio version dubbed into it. Apparently Ed was swearing for most of the song but to play it on MTV they had to mix in the studio version. Sounds really good though.

i really love the unplugged 92 version of this song... you really hear the power of eddie's vocals with everything else stripped down!

SOLAT has been one of my favourite songs for a very long time. (you know that one song, that you really want them to play, but think they never will where you live). and i finally got to here it last year (brisbane 07) . was the most disappointing solat i have ever heard. so i don't recommend that one :)

  • There are many great versions of this great song. For some odd reason Thunderbay from 05 came to mind because Ed couldnt get to a mic quick enough and the crowd just sang the first verse for him. Kind of a cool moment in my eyes.
My first PJ show to witness was at Bonnaroo. How is that for lucky?
  • Atlanta 94's is great, but personally nothing beats the version from MTV unplugged.
