I waited to meet Ed after the Austin 2 show and asked about the story behind Porch and if Black and Porch are written about the same person. A person behind me taped the conversation, I didn't know it was being taped. The video is poor but the audio is great. A Ten clubber sent me a PM, that Iggy Pop show he is talking about was on 12/10/1990. Porch was first played on 12/22/1990.

He asked about the origin of porch, Ed said he had a girlfriend that went to see iggy in Mexico and he did not hear from her that night, fearing the worst he wrote porch, " never feel you hold you etc"

He fan asked so its not the same girlfriend from black Ed said no, there have only been a couple..... ( I assume he was referring to his limited number of female relationships :shock:

Really cool question and response. I miss the EV shows so badly. I hope more of us pop questions like this on Ed more often and he is willing to give us a little more insight----very cool, imo. Thanks for the post---i had read about your interaction but to hear Ed tell it is a lot cooler:)
