Probably VFC 2004 in Asheville, which I dont remember seeming like a short show... but, the shortest is probably Midtown Music Fest in Atlanta... the whole show seemed somewhat rushed...

I was at the show that Pearl Jam played to benefit the 25th anniversary of Northwest School where Stone went. It was March 18, 2005 at the Paramount Theater in Seattle and there were 4 acts; Bill Frisel, Ann & Nancy Wilson, The Presidents of the United States of America and of course, Pearl Jam. Me and a buddy drove from Saskatoon, SK, Canada to Seattle for this once in a lifetime show. They played 11 songs for 3,000 people. Only 400 tickets were sold to the general public; the majority were 10C & friends and fam. Two students from the school were chosen to play between sets. It... was... magical.

Finsbury Park, July 93, they played 14 songs. They were supporting Uncle Neil (although they were 4th on the bill and not openers)

Animal, Go, Once, Blood, Even Flow, Jeremy, Glorified G, Daughter, Alive, Why Go, Leash, Fuckin' Up, Tearing, Porch

For PJ headline shows mine would be Lollapalooza 07 where they only played 22 songs

when they "headlined" the tibetan freedom concert in 1998:
set: Corduroy, Hail Hail, Brain of J, Even Flow, Given to Fly, Do the Evolution, Wishlist, Better Man/(Save It for Later)

way too short of a set. I understand they wanted rhcp to play but man...only 8 songs; very different than the last time I saw them live which was randall's night 2.

  • 05/07/98 - ARO.space: Seattle, WA (first show with Matt Cameron) [75m]

    support act: Shawn Smith

set: Interstellar Overdrive, Corduroy, Do The Evolution, Brain of J, Last Exit, Given to Fly, In Hiding, Off He Goes, MFC, jam/Habit, Wishlist, Faithfull, Hail Hail, Mankind, Leatherman (!), Leaving Here
    enc: Last Kiss (cover)

notes: PJ makes their first full public appearance with Matt Cameron at this surprise show at the club formerly known as Moe's (site of the Mirror Ball release party and private Neil Jam show in 1995). The band is visibly nervous until 'Habit,' at which point they totally kick in, laughing amongst themselves, making jokes. 'MFC' and 'Habit' are total standouts, as well as Stone's tambourine playing during 'Leatherman' and Eddie's hilarious backing vocals during 'Mankind.' The band leaves the stage and then Matt, Jeff and Ed return, Ed tells us a little story, displaying a Michael Jordan bong and a single. He tells us he bought the single for 99 cents the day before and stayed up all night listening to, 'Last Kiss,' a 50s gothic romance that was re-released and popular during the early 70s, and then proceeds to serenade us with a wonderful rendition of that song. Amazing show!

Hahahaha I was there too! You must of been that "other" person in there being that there was only like 7 people in there and the other 5 were with the band.

Was at San Fran in 95 when Ed had his debacle in the emergency room the night before. I believe it was 5 or 7 songs. Then they rocked the shit out with uncle Neil for over 2 hrs in the 113* heat!

Pearl jam ACL 2009 was like 21- 22 songs I think. It was a great show though. 8-) Not counting Jazz Odyssey cause that was more of an improv (think Matt's drum kit had a problem if I remember). I'm also keeping in mind, it was a festival show with tight scheduling and time restrictions. 8-)

THAT would be the shortest "real" show, I'd have to say.

Asheville 2004 VFC tour... 21 songs... ed was clearly sick... but the show was still great with 5th row floor tickets in front of mike in a tiny little arena... not to mention an acoustic long road to start the first encore

i was at MIA, 25 songs i think... and asheville definitely seemed shorter and definitely had fewer songs

I was at Asheville. I didn't even realize it was that short. I suppose my shortest was Bridge School, but then again I didn't expect a 28 song blistering set either. The 98 tour, although it was the best they've ever sounded, had some shorter set lists.

We were actually in a small group of four - me, two friends and another friend's father who was the head of security for the theater (the reason we were able to be there in the first place) - seated very quietly to the left middle. I do remember looking around and seeing maybe 2 or 3 other people in there, thinking how fricking cool it was to be one of the few.
