I have no trouble recalling
Each word and each second

Hard to shake feelings

I remember walking back through the city
It was gritty dawn
There was litter,
But everything still seemed so clean
Pristine.

Dropped the coffee
Caffeine swirls
in a puddle
Spiral off to some promised land

A conversation
