    Survivalists and serial killers and whoever else owns guns are encouraged to "go to your local gun store, gun range or gun show" and appreciate your gun the best way you know how.

    you have to have a FOID before you can legally purhcase a gun in IL.

    Not everyone who owns a gun is a fanatic or an extremist. Kinda like religion.

    I don't get setting any particular day aside for "appreciation".

    And to be fair, if this type of day will be bashed, then all others should be as well.
